Kristines Brainstorm Page
I agree that group decision making is better than individual decision making.

So far, I have been browsing for articles and websites that support our decision in agreeing that group decisions are better than individiuals decisions. Below are some articles and bits and pieces of information that are taken from websites which I feel could be an assett to information that we need to build or help expand our wiki page, or can help us further our knowledge on our topic. If any one feels I am on the wrong track please let me know, but this is just by brainstorming page, and where I am just posting information I feel can help. All of the information if use needs to be cited.

Important Information from that article:
The two researchers show that the type of the decision-maker – an individual or a team –
makes a significant difference in an interactive economic environment, whether it’s the
investment and marketing strategies of companies and fund managers or the budget and
monetary policy-making of governments and central banks.
Small teams are smarter decision-makers than individuals because they are better at
processing information and better at predicting other decision-makers’ choices.
The growing importance of teams in firms, consulting and decision-making in general renders
these findings highly relevant. Decision-making teams are everywhere, including families,
boards of directors, legislatures and committees. Households and firms, the main players in
the economy, are typically not individuals but teams of people with a joint stake in their
decisions. Similarly, political and military decisions as well as decisions on monetary policy are

frequently taken by teams rather than by individuals.

Assets of Group Decision
Making

• Groups can accumulate more knowledge and facts
• Groups have a broader perspective and consider more
alternative solutions
• Individuals who participate in decisions are more satisfied
with the decision and are more likely to support it.
• Group decision making processes serve an important
communication function as well as a useful political

function.
